Gmail Login Stops in Firefox - Problem solution

Suddenly I couldn't log in into GMAIL webmail for some reason. I entered my username/password, clicked the login-button. The screen cleared as usual, "Loading..." appeared and disappeared in the upper left corner as usual, but the red box with "Loading..." in the top right corner did not appear.

I tried several times, but since the cookies were already set for my login, the regular login page didn't even appear anymore.

Solution:
  • Clear/delete all cookies (or only the mail.google.com cookies)
  • Clear your browser cache

Deleting the cookies only doesn't solve the problem. There must be something fishy with the cache. Therefore this problem might also appear in any browser such as Internet Explorer (IE), Opera, Netscape etc.
