Debian Sarge XMMS mp4 m4a plugin
If you want to play m4a/mp4/aac files with XMMS on Debian Sarge, you need libfaad2 and the XMMS mp4 plugin.
Go to
http://rarewares.soniccompression.com/debian/packages/unstable/
and download
libfaad2-0_2.1.beta+cvs20050130.05-0.2_i386.deb
xmms-mp4plugin_0.0.20050213-0.0_i386.deb
(or any later version).
Install those with:
# dpkg -i libfaad2-0_2.1.beta+cvs20050130.05-0.2_i386.deb
and
# dpkg -i xmms-mp4plugin_0.0.20050213-0.0_i386.deb
The current libfaad2 library on your system will be replaced by the newer one, but as fast as I have seen
this doesn't cause any problems.
Start XMMS now and you're ready to play m4a/mp4 files.
